How to Make the Perfect Latte
Equipment and Ingredients:
- Espresso machine
- Coffee grinder
- Fresh coffee beans
- Milk
- Milk frothing pitcher
- Thermometer (optional)
- Latte cup
Single Shot Latte:
Grind Coffee Beans: Use fresh coffee beans and grind them to a fine consistency suitable for espresso.
Prepare Espresso:
- Turn on the espresso machine and let it heat up.
- Place the portafilter in the machine and press the ground coffee into it, ensuring it is evenly distributed and tamped down.
- Attach the portafilter to the espresso machine and start the extraction process.
- Aim for about 30 ml (1 oz) of espresso, which should take approximately 25-30 seconds to extract.
Steam Milk:
- Pour cold milk into the frothing pitcher (about 150 ml or 5 oz for a single shot).
- Place the steam wand into the milk and turn on the steam.
- Position the wand just below the surface of the milk to create microfoam and incorporate air.
- Move the pitcher slightly to create a whirlpool effect, heating the milk evenly.
- Heat the milk to about 60-65°C (140-150°F).
Combine Espresso and Milk:
- Pour the steamed milk into the latte cup.
- Add the espresso shot into the cup with the milk, holding back the foam with a spoon if needed, and then spoon the foam on top.

- Follow the same steaming process as for a single shot, heating the milk to about 60-65°C (140-150°F).
Combine Espresso and Milk:
- Pour the steamed milk into a larger latte cup.
- Add the double shot of espresso into the cup with the milk, holding back the foam with a spoon if needed, and then spoon the foam on top.
- Optional: 1-2 tablespoons of coffee flavors syrup like hazelnuts, Almonds, Cinnamon, clove,Jasmine, rose, Caramel, honey etc
